Monnow Ballet School offers a variety of fun and inspiring dance classes for both girls and boys, and adults.  Classes can be taken for pleasure or to work toward graded examinations.

Ballet classes are taught by the principal, Miss Nina Salmon, a fully qualified RAD teacher.  Private coaching is also offered, by arrangement, for exams, auditions and competitions.

Classes are fun and varied and cover the RAD syllabus work as well as story telling for the younger ones and strengthening exercises for older children.  All children and adults are taught as individuals with different paths and abilities so everyone flourishes to their full potential.

Children’s Ballet

Age: 3+

Monnow Ballet School teaches the RAD syllabus, using props and conditioning equipment.   The RAD syllabus has been devised specifically with children in mind, and examinations are not compulsory. These classes are held after school in all grades up to vocational level.

Pre-vocational training

Age: 7+

Children showing potential for taking ballet further are nurtured and encouraged to take additional classes and to audition for associate classes linked to Elmhurst, Royal Ballet School and Ballet Cymru.

Late starters’ Ballet

Age 9+

Suitable for children or teenagers who wish to learn ballet but have little or no previous experience. Exams are offered but are not compulsory.

Silver Swans’ Ballet

Adult

Adult beginner ballet students. All ages welcome, suitable for anyone who wishes to learn ballet and has little or no previous experience. Exams and shows are optional.

Private Lessons

Private Lessons offer individual tuition in achieving a higher grade, preparing for an audition or improving your technique.  By arrangement only.
