EXAMINATIONS

Examinations are offered when students are ready, usually after one year. The exception is Grade 6/7/8 and Intermediate Foundation upwards, which is studied usually over 18 months to two years.

For those children wishing to take the RAD Graded Examination Syllabus, there are ten grades each incorporating classical ballet, free movement and character dance.

Every effort will be made to have the examination at a weekend, however, this cannot be guaranteed.  Exam results take aproximately 6-8 weeks to arrive, and a further few weeks for the certificates.

Please ensure you have a complete and fitted uniform and arrive 45 minutes before your alloted exam time.  Hair should be in a neat bun for girls, and cut short for boys.

Mock exams are usually held a week before the exam. These are complusory as it helps the children understand exactly what needs to be done, e.g. where to start their dances, and with whom, depending on their exam groupings.

Children in Year 1 at school and above are eligible to take the exams, unless advised otherwise. Children who do not wish to take the exams will usually still move up to the next class to stay with their peers.
